The Los Santos Fire Department is currently looking for Firefighter/EMTs to aid in the ever growing need for fire and medical response within Los Santos and its surrounding areas. To apply, you must meet all of the requirements outlined below and are expected to have a well founded understanding of the job and the responsibilities that come with it. We are looking for individuals who can display initiative and think outside the box, are able to communicate well, are mentally and physically fit and those are willing and able to work in teams and remain calm when under pressure or stress.
(( On an out of character basis, we are looking for people who are interested in fire AND medical roleplay and have a solid, well developed character with personality and sufficient motivations for becoming an FF/EMT in the State of San Andreas. You will be required to work medical calls as a part of this role. You must be able to engage in passive roleplay and have a good understanding of reading, writing and comprehending the English language. Our candidates need to be able to meet the minimum activity requirements for the faction (equivalent to 30 minutes per day for full time which can be split between days and less for part-time) and must be able and willing to communicate with other faction members. Please do not apply if you are intending to immediately go inactive or believe you will not be able to meet the outlined criteria. ))
Those who are successful will be trained at a Basic Life Support (BLS) level with the opportunity to advance to further medical licensing (LALS/AEMT and Paramedicine) upon completion of the department's probation program.
What can I do to prepare myself for this position?
The Los Santos Fire Department offers numerous online resources for those wishing to know more about this position and what it entails. We also offer a ridealong program that enables members of the public to go out on live calls with our personnel and get a direct idea of what a day in the life may look like. Pillbox HIll Medical Center and the Los Santos Fire Department also offer First Aid courses for those wanting to dip their toes into the basics of medical treatment to see if it is right for them. Ensure you are well prepared for your Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) by the means that work best for you.

Requirements
- Applicants must be at least eighteen (18) years of age at the time of applying
- Applicants must possess a valid San Andreas driver's license
- Applicants must possess, at minimum, a G.E.D, a U.S. institution equivalent or a San Andreas High School Proficiency Examination (SAHSPE) certificate. A two or four year college degree from accredited U.S. or foreign institution can also be considered valid
- Applicants must be a citizen of the United States or a permanent resident alien who have applied for and acquired citizenship
- Applicants must not have a criminal record (no felonies or serious misdemeanours)
- Applicants must be in good shape both mentally and physically. Candidates will be required to undergo and pass the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) along with a drug test as a part of the application process.
- Applicants must be willing and able to complete the recruitment process within 10 days
- Applicants must not have an active application with another agency during the recruitment process
- Applicants must adhere to department wise grooming standards. Applicants may not have hair that is dyed an unnatural color. Tattoos must not be visible on the neck or hands, and must not extend pass the sleeves of Class A (long sleeve) uniforms. Tattoos must not be offensive or inappropriate in nature.

- (( Applicants who are already part of an existing official faction must acquire Double Faction Permission from their faction leader and state their intent of Double Faction through the LSFD External Requests portal prior to sending in their application. ))

- (( Applicants may not have an application up with another legal faction, or submit an application to another legal faction, during the recruitment process. ))
- (( Applicants must be in good standing with the community and may be disqualified from the selection process for prior admin jails or bans. ))
(( Applicants must be prepared to undergo a thorough evaluation of suitability as a prospective faction member, including but not limited to a review of English proficiency, attitude, communication abilities, character development, roleplay quality and motivations. ))
Application Process
- Submitting an Application
- The applicant should fill out the form below, ensuring to double check over their work prior to submitting. Effort should be put into the application to reduce the risk of delay or denial. The Recruit Services Section will receive your application within 24 hours and conduct a background check alongside reviewing the provided information and determining if the Candidate is suitable to continue in the process. Applicants can expect to hear a response within 72 hours after it is claimed.
- At this stage in the process, applicants may either be denied or set to pending to amend any issues found in the application.
- The applicant should fill out the form below, ensuring to double check over their work prior to submitting. Effort should be put into the application to reduce the risk of delay or denial. - Ride Along
- If successful, applicants will be required to go on ride alongs, equal to two hours in length, with with designated personnel and will allow the applicant to direct interact and observe the day to day operations of their chosen role. Following completion of these, applicants can expect further results within 48 hours. If crews would like more information on a candidate, Training & Recruitment may request for the candidate to come in for a panel interview.
- Candidate Ability + Academy (( NPC ))
- Candidates who make it through the interview stage will be invited to take part in a Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) and a drug test to ensure that the applicant is in top mental and physical heatlh. Providing no issues crop up, the applicant will then be taken through a mandatory 18 weeks of the Fire Academy alongside 120 hours of supervised EMT training and an initial entry examination with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians before officially being employed and inducted with the Fire Department. (( We do not offer in-game academies at this time, all of your training and supervisions will be done in-game through our Field Training Program ))
- Failure to Qualify
- Those who are denied at any point during the application process may appeal the decision by e-mailing the Training & Recruitment Bureau through our online portal (( ACCESS )). They should detail why they are contesting the appeal and why they believe they should be allowed to progress further in the recruitment process. The appeal process can take up to five days, depending on circumstances.
