Section III- Employment Information
3.1 Why should Los Santos Fire Department accept your reinstatement ?:
During my tenure in the department I actively played a role in the team. I was very fresh and inexperienced when I started, but my brothers and sisters took me in and raised me. I was an adrenaline junkie, rushing from call to call. Day or night, sunshine or rain, I tried to be there when I was needed. When the pager went off, I didn’t blink. I left what I was doing and acted.

Furthermore, I tried to create a positive and inclusive environment around the fire station. When I had the chance I always partnered up with a colleague or conducted an FTP. I believe and still do that the newer members are the department’s future. Nevertheless, to enjoy their time probationary firefighters and EMT’s rely on senior members to partner up and receive guidance.

As a volunteer firefighter serving my local community of Paleto Bay, I tried to help the department with community relations. I took part in station and community events around Paleto Bay and engaged people about the department’s role. Oftentimes I encouraged friends to apply for a ride-along.

If the department takes me in again, I will continue doing what I used to do, but also become more involved. For instance, I want to join divisions, assume more responsibilities as a volunteer, encourage more activity around Station 1, and cooperate with our fellow neighboring agencies: LSSD and SAPR.

Moreover, I believe my presence would help boost representation of the Hispanic community in the department. Communication on scenes is key. My knowledge of Spanish might be a valuable asset on calls, especially to mediate between patients, my colleagues, and law enforcement officers.

3.2 Why do you wish to rejoin the Fire Department?:
My involvement in the department was not planned, as most of my life. Owning a liquor store in Paleto Bay fulfilled me. I was self-reliant; I didn’t financially depend on anyone. One day I fell in love with a firefighter—everything changed. A few weeks after I was applying for a volunteer position in LSFD. I discovered a passion for public service, but I didn’t want to build a professional career.

Training was intense and demanding. I started as a blank slate, but I learned so much about medical, and fire and rescue techniques as a probationary firefighter. Along the way, I have met great people of enormous integrity and dedication to others. The Los Santos Fire Department became a second family. I became close friends with many of my colleagues. The heart-wrenching and stressful situations made me mature as a person. I learned more about people’s emotions and empathy. I want to experience that again, reunite with my brothers and sisters, and become part of that great family once more. I feel it in my bones; I have much more to offer.

3.3 What have you been doing since your discharge from the department?:
I traveled back to Costa Rica, where I was originally born and raised, to take care of my papá. He used to be a heavy smoker and a year ago he contracted lung cancer. My mamá called me one day. She told me about the news and asked me to come back. As much as San Andreas felt like home, I couldn’t say no. My family needed me there. While away I have provided emotional support to my parents, as well as help in the day-to-day running of the house. In addition, I reconnected with many of my childhood friends.

5.4.2 If so, Please link proof of approved double faction permissions: Access

5.5 Please provide the reasons that lead you to resign from the faction initially.
I resigned from the faction because I could not keep up my activity anymore. In August I was traveling to the United States for an exchange program. I did not bring along my gaming PC because I wanted to disconnect and focus on my college studies abroad.

My time in West Virginia has been thrilling a ride. It has been both academically stimulating and emotionally fulfilling. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. As a student I was very involved in my classes, and I also made a lot of friends, many of which are Hispanic! After this chapter in my life, I can say that my English has improved. One day I even ventured out with the local fire department on a ride-along for 5 hours. It has been by far one of the coolest experiences I could have ever wished for. I witnessed many similarities with the RP I experienced in this faction and real life.

Overall, I could not have asked for a better trip overseas. Now that I have returned from my semester abroad I wish to continue my roleplay experience with LSFD where I left off. There hasn’t been a day that I have stopped thinking about you. I truly miss everyone a lot!
