FIREFIGHTERS BATTLE GRAPESEED BRUSH FIRE, TWO INJURED

GRAPESEED - A well-established brush fire quickly consumed an orchard on Seaview road, injuring two firefighters.
At 21:16 on February 16th, 2022, the Los Santos Fire Department responded to a reported brush fire on Seaview road in Grapeseed. The first arriving fire company found a well-established fire in heavy brush with nearby properties under immediate threat. Additional companies were requested as crews initiated defensive fire attacks.
LSFD responders immediately commenced defensive firefighting operations, deploying two Brush Patrol vehicles that are specially equipped to battle large brush fires, allowing a Mobile attack where firefighters attack the brush fire along with the patrol vehicle in tandem. (Title picture)
Firefighters quick action and teamwork prevented the spread and further damage to the surrounding properties. 46 minutes into the incident and over 10 firefighters working under the leadership of Fire Captain Reinhart achieved a knockdown.
Two firefighters were injured while battling the fire. One had to be taken to a hospital with serious burn injuries. Both injuries were related to the fire and no other injuries were reported.
Fire loss is still being tabulated. The cause of this major emergency fire remains under active investigation.
