MEMORANDUM #56

Dear Staff,

The following changes are now in effect for members who are wanting to progress to the rank of Engineer.

All members requesting the rank of Engineer will be required to complete a new course, "Apparatus Operator". This course will encompass all of the training required to operate both the Engine and Quint/Ladder Truck.
- Pump Panel Operations
- Aerial Operations
This course will be completed after the member applies for Engineer and is accepted. All current Engineers will be required to show proficiency in the new course and may be required to complete it if necessary. Instructions will come out shortly on how to do this.

Engineers will be required to complete two (2) Field Trainings (FTPs) per month to maintain rank.

Engineers and all officer ranks are capped and have billets in order to properly distribute engineers and officers. All current engineers and officers will be placed into appropriate billets, if not already done. Please refer to the following:

Head of B-Shift: 1
Head of BC-2: 1 (Volunteer)

Total: 3 Battalion Chiefs
Captain II

Station 1: 1 (Full-time or volunteer)

Station 3: 2

Station 4: 1 (Volunteer)

Station 6: 1

Station 7: 2

Total: 7 Captain IIs
Captain I

Station 1: 1 (Full-time or volunteer)

Station 3: 2

Station 4: 1 (Volunteer)

Station 6: 1

Station 7: 2

Total: 7 Captain Is
Engineers

Station 1: 2 (Full-time or volunteer)

Station 3: 4

Station 4: 2 (Volunteer)

Station 6: 2

Station 7: 4
