OPENING STATEMENT
Hello firefighters and welcome to the 39th edition of the Los Santos Fire Department Monthly Newsletter. This month the newsletter is a tad bit shorter then usual, due to a couple of last minute misunderstandings and due to the fact that Public Relations has just been swarmed with work in general. But nevertheless, below are the updates that cover the entirety of September and open up October with a bright smile.
There's quite a lot that happened throughout the month that may be worthy to talk about, starting, of course, with the most important news of the month, we indeed have a new face in the headquarters, not as new for the veterans around in the LSFD, however, the Office of the Fire Chief announced, just recently that Gary Young has been promoted to Assistant Chief, he'll continuously be leading the operational side of the LSFD and will be the assisting hand to the Fire and Deputy Chief.
Furthermore, we've launched our first out of many recruitment booths prior to recruitment opening, Public Relations along with Training and Recruitment deemed it successful enough to continue running recruitment booths similar to that, along with that our pay scales have increased, by quite a bit and along with that, Public Relations has started issuing payments for event attendance, this is with full support of the Senate and Municipality.
As we slowly roll into Spooktober, get your Halloween outfits ready, Public Relations will be running a couple of events to celebrate the positivity that October brings us. As the temperatures fall, we expect the possibility of bad weather and possible floorings to start and whilst it's a rare chance, what's not rare is the issues with the canals and dam having emergencies, which is something we can expect throughout the month, as well as water pipes cracking underneath the concrete of the roads.
As stated earlier, a bit of a shorter update, but an update nonetheless, we wish everyone a happy Spooktober!

MESSAGE FROM THE CHIEF
Hello everybody,
I have a few announcements I'd like to make. First of all, congratulations to Jess Williams for her selection as Battalion Chief. In the interim, she will be appointed as the director of the Volunteer section at Battalion 2. I'd also like to congratulate everybody else who's been recognized this month.
There are a few things you can expect in the coming months that I'd like to touch on now. First of all, we are in the process of negotiating a rework of our mutual aid agreements with every agency. We will keep you all in the loop on the progress of that. Secondly, we are actively working on expanding the Emergency Medical Services department in several ways. Unfortunately, I cannot go into specifics right now but expect several new unique opportunities afforded to the division. And thirdly, we are in the process of procuring several new vehicles to replace the older vehicles in the fleet, such as our Quint. We are also reviewing the possibility of replacing even more vehicles in the near future.
If there are any questions, feel free to reach out. God bless.

- (( Professional Standards and Behavior ))
- Reminder to all members of this faction and those of you who use the LSFD Discord, you're expected to uphold a standard of behavior. It has to be abundantly clear that the posting of words/material/images/memes that can be deemed offensive to people is not acceptable by any stretch of the imagination. Please think twice before posting things with may be deemed to contain offensive material otherwise actions may have to be taken, whilst you may not find certain things offensive, others may, so please think bigger picture. I'd also like to remind everyone to take note of viewtopic.php?f=330&t=12440 posted by Sikes recently.
- Air Operations not being able to respond
- When and in-case our Air Operations may not be able to respond to a call due to staffing, you can and should be requesting Sheriff's ESD over departmental for their Rescue 5 response.
- Fleet Updates
- The first one of the many vehicle updates have been released. We're happy to say that nearly every vehicle in the fleet's at least getting a livery update. A new Lifeguard vehicle will be releasing shortly, and that will be followed by other updates.
- New Assistant Chief and an expected update in the Chain of Command
- We'd like to congratulate Gary Young for his promotion to Assistant Chief. In the coming months, Randy Sikes intends on stepping down as your chief and ultimately having Gary replace him. His invaluable knowledge and experience makes him a natural pick for the role and over the next few weeks, perhaps months, we will gradually give him more responsibility and transition him into the role so that the handoff can be as smooth as possible.

DIVISIONAL OPENINGS
DIVISIONAL OPENINGS
- Recruitment for Training and Recruitment is currently OPEN.
- The Training & Recruitment is the backbone of the Fire Department, and it responsible for a variety of tasks such as recruiting, interviewing, and training new and seasoned employees. Current employees who meet the requirements are free to apply.
- Recruitment for Public Relations is currently OPEN.
- The Public Relations division for the Los Santos Fire Department is a crucial yet often understated part of any strongly functioning fire department. In modern times there are fire services across the country being privatized, and with other government agencies in action where we reside, we’re also at war for funding! It’s important to show our worth for these reasons, alongside recruitment efforts. Creating interest and educating the public is one of our greatest assets. (( Expect a delay for a response on your applications due to the high amount of workload for PR Command ))
