Lateral Transfer Request Information
Former employees of other agencies may seek employment with the Los Santos Fire Department by submitting a Lateral Transfer Request. Applicants shall ensure that they hold a valid NFPA 1001: Fire Fighter 1 certificate before filing a lateral transfer request.
In addition, applicants must thoroughly read and understand all the information provided in this document and may only submit Lateral Transfer Requests once all requirements are met.
Former employees of the Los Santos Fire Department, regardless of new employment since their resignation/termination from the Los Santos Fire Department should NOT file a Lateral Transfer Request Form. They should instead file a Reinstatement Request Form.

Requirements
- Applicants are required to be of acceptable physical and mental health.
- Applicants are required to be a graduate of a U.S. high school, G.E.D, or equivalent from a U.S. institution.
- Transferees are required to be a United States citizen, or that a non-citizen be a permanent resident alien, in accordance with the requirements of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), is eligible and has applied for citizenship.
- Applicants are required to possess a valid driver's license within the State of San Andreas.
- Applicants are required to have no criminal history beyond traffic infractions.
- Applicants with exceptionally poor/recent traffic infractions are liable to be denied.
- Applicants are required to maintain fluent communicative skills within the English language, both written and verbal. (( This applies on an out-of-character level, too. ))
- Applicants are required to hold a non-probationary rank (e.g. Firefighter I/Emergency Medical Technician equivalent) in their current department.
- (( Applicants must show proof of approval for transfer by FDLC Leadership. ))
- (( Applicants must disclose their full administrative record for all of their current and past accounts. ))
- (( Applicants must be willing to realistically roleplay an American firefighter/EMS provider committed to an organization that is based mostly around serving the community. All members of the faction are expected to contribute to the overall goal of roleplaying a realistic city fire department. ))
Request Process
- Applicant who meets all requirements files a Lateral Transfer Request Form.
- Request is received by a Los Santos Fire Department Company Officer+ and is forwarded to the Department Chief Officers for review and deliberation.
- Following the conclusion of the review and deliberation, which will take no longer than seventy-two (72) hours, the applicant’s lateral transfer request will either be denied, or they are offered employment.
- Upon being offered employment, the applicant will have seventy-two (72) hours to either accept or decline the offer.
- Should the applicant accept the offer, they will be inducted into the Department.
